Welcome to our village
Mousehole’s a lot of things for such a small place. It’s the defiant fishing port that faced the Armada, and the place where the Cornish language survived the longest (and it’s good to hear it spoken here again). It’s home to the original star-gazey pie and the story of Mowzer, and celebrates Christmas every year with its famous display of lights and the (very) lively Tom Bawcock’s Eve. Mousehole’s seen tragedy (the loss of the Solomon Browne) but remains a strong and proudly Cornish community.
If you’re a visitor to Mousehole, take time to explore its narrow little streets, with their outside stairs and fish cellars, and gorgeous small shops and galleries. Wander down to the sandy little beach (an all-time favourite with younger children), or leave the centre to discover the best rockpools in the west.
We love it here, and we can’t imagine being anywhere else.
Our menus change all the time – that's one of the beauties of having a local catch and plenty of farms nearby. You can be sure that every day has at least one seafood, meat and vegan dish, with gluten-free and other dietary requirements also available.
